Some of Ireland’s most beautiful and
productive fishing waters are to be found
in counties Clare and Limerick. The drive
from Dublin is less than three hours and
only 90 minutes for anglers from southern
England and Wales who can travel on the
Swansea-Cork Ferry. From then on it’s “doorstep
fishing” with an array of river and lakes
holding specimen bream, tench, rudd, hybrids,
pike and perch. Options vary from catching
huge pike and 8lb bream on Lough Derg’s
32,000 acres of water, to sneaking tench
from reed fringed tiny lakes in East Clare. |
